Dr Linc Thurecht
Dr Linc Thurecht is a Senior Research Fellow at NATSEM. He has expertise in finance, finance policy and econometric methods and microdata analysis. He is playing a leading role in projects involving the economic evaluation of health programs and policy, and econometric modelling of the Australian health system.
Dr Thurecht has experience in the development of a number of health models including those relating to the use of pharmaceuticals subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the use of hospitals, the effect of private health insurance reforms and the economic analyses of diabetes prevention.
Dr Thurecht also tutors part-time at ANU in financial economics. Prior to joining NATSEM in January 2001, Dr Thurecht worked as an Assistant Director and Acting Director, various branches, at the Federal Department of Family and Community Services where he contributed to the development of the portfolio’s budget submissions and led teams with responsibility for forecasting expenditure on income support payments as well as developing finance policy and implementing quality assurance processes.
