Professor Wendy Moyle

Professor Wendy Moyle is the Deputy Director of the Research Centre for Clinical and Community Practice Innovation (RCCCPI) at Griffith University. She leads an evidence based practice for older people research agenda in the RCCCPI and coordinates the research higher degree program in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. She is a research partner exploring social engagement and QoL in the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre:Carers and Consumers and a partner in the Eastern Australia Dementia Training and Study Centre. Wendy’s research has evolved around professional practice issues that focus on an understanding of “care” in the areas of aged care and mental health. Wendy’s research interest has resulted in numerous international and national keynote addresses and research collaborations with colleagues in the UK, USA, Germany, South Africa, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Norway. She has a well established publication and research grant record and has received several awards in recognition of her teaching, supervision of higher degree students and research. Her present research interests are in quality of life and moral care for people with dementia, which aims to lead to the construction of an evidence based model of dementia care, complementary therapies and their use in disruptive behaviours, loneliness, social engagement, sleep and activity, family involvement in dementia care, frailty and wellbeing, and care of people with dementia in acute settings.
