Associate Professor Susan Kurrle
Professor Kurrle holds the Curran Chair in Health Care of Older People in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital in northern Sydney where she is a geriatrician working in both hospital and community settings.
She has had a long interest and involvement in diagnosis and management of dementia and runs a memory and dementia clinic at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. She is involved in several clinical dementia drug trials, and has a strong research interest in the management of falls in people with dementia. Her other areas of research are in prevention of fall-related injuries, elder abuse, and development of appropriate health services for older people. She has served on the Board of Alzheimers Australia (NSW) in the past and continues to work with them in education of health care professionals and family carers. Professor Kurrle is the node leader for the Cormobidities of Dementia node.
